DrumScriobh 2 - What's New?
|
The main changes and additions to DrumScriobh
fall into two categories: Editing and Sound.
|
|
|
|
|
Editing:
|
- very flexible structure i.e. clefs, time
signatures, timings, bars etc. can be dropped from palettes on to
the basic structure (already defined with the 'Structure' dialog).
Structure items can be removed just as easily. This allows so much
flexibility that each bar to have a different time signature if
required!
- vertical bar lines can be moved manually
- custom time signatures
- irregular groups supported
- note value checker on main toolbar (like a
spell checker but works on the total value of notes in each bar). The bar turns red if there is an error.
This can be switched off.
- 'Undo' on Edit menu
- selections of notes, grouped notes etc. can
be copied, cut and pasted from bar to bar
- selected items can be moved by dragging to a
different location
- heads of grouped notes can be individually
altered in pitch or re-positioned in time by holding down the shift
key while moving with the mouse.
- right mouse menu with copy, cut, paste,
undo, delete, refresh etc.
- tool to auto space notes in a bar (button on
main toolbar)
- clefs supported: bass, treble, neutral or
none
- symbol positioning window allows unison,
solo, crescendos etc. to be individually positioned so that they
don't overlap
- North American notation included on tooltips
|
Sound:
|
- sampled sound playback - uses real drum
samples
- playback tempo setting (displayed in beats
per minute), can optionally be displayed on score.
- playback can either play the whole score,
play within a highlighted range, or play from the currently selected
note. Tempo can be adjusted between 20 BPM and 200 BPM. Also,
looping supported which can even allow a highlighted section to be
looped continuously.
- save as Wave (.wav) file
